Austin Plaine
Austin Plaine started off the show with a few touching folk tunes. Despite only being 23 years old, his vocal inflections and songwriting techniques are almost comparable to that of Bruce Springsteen. Plaine has an impressive ability to write unforgettable melodies that capture an audience. His songs made it nearly impossible to leave the show without at least one of his choruses stuck in your head, and as a relatively new artist—that’s exactly what he needs. Fairground Saints
Fairground Saints traveled all the way from their homes in Los Angeles to astonish audiences with their flawless harmonies and rhythms. The trio had an incredible energy that overflowed into the crowd, resulting in a great performance. If you’re still unconvinced, just keep in mind that the group has only been together for a bit over a year, and they’ve already signed to The Verve Music Group, a subsidiary of Universal Music. Striking Matches
Striking Matches is a duo from Nashville, often recognized because of their songs that were featured on ABC’s television show--Nashville. Although they might be regarded as “country music,” they’ve created their own brand of alternative-country-blues-pop-rock (trust me, you have to listen before you understand it). With dueling acoustic guitars, the two stunned the crowd with their insane guitar chops and charisma. The duo don’t simply put on a show; they actuallyperform and create an entire experience that’s entertaining no matter what genre you’re accustomed to.
